If you have a multimeter (or 12v bulb on a couple wires!) check the output side of the fuse and work 'forwards' towards the radio and cig socket. With the glove compartment in the fully down position (which mine adopts of it's own accord!) and the upper dash ash tray removed access is pretty good.

Having first checked there is a decent earth of course as above!

Thought it was going to be a dodgy earth. Working through loads of old bodges including two scotch locks on the lpg feed and turned out to be a fuse under the driver's seat inline with a permanent live feed from leisure battery. Stripped out and trimmed loads but reckon I need an electrician to sort out the rest

Was going to say make sure that the 12v leisure mod has not been done?
If it has been done then if done correctly it should have an inline fuse to protect the wire from the leisure battery.

Sounds like you have found this now?
But check why the fuse has blown? - is the wire worn/damaged and grounding out anywhere?

Good luck :ok

When the battery died I was stumbling around trying to swap batteries etc and socket made contact with positive and battery box. My fault. A dodgy wire has proved annoying and meant another new battery. Must make sure I keep the receipt this time around, battery was over £100 but I can't find the receipt.
