Brake caliper carrier bolts

My t25 seems to be playing tricks on me. Took the front calibre carrier off a few months back. Bolts were very tight. Trying to bolt them back on but they won't thread? It's like there is only 1mm of thread so even if they did thread there wouldn't be much holding them on. Does anyone know if the caliper carrier is threaded all the way through the bolt holes or only halfway as looks to be on mine?

The bolts are M16x1.5x48.

Are you sure you are offering the caliper carrier up in the right orientation ? - I don't mean to be insulting, we all make daft mistakes from time to time

Good question Carrera as I have made errors like that before but not this time. Took the caliper carrier to a machine shop and they said the threads were knackered. So they are tapping the hole to M18 from M16 for me. Nightmare getting hold of M18 x 1.5 pitch x 50 mm bolts though. They are either ridiculously expensive for high tensile ones or if you can wait a month, get them cheap from China.

Have you thought about getting the machine shop to put a M16 thread repair kit in (Timesert / Helicoil) ?
Quicker & saves on new bolts.....

Retapped to m18, die grinder and 18mm drill bit on hub carrier holes to accept wider bolt and all bolted up nicely with m18 x 50mm bolts
