FUEL CONSUMPTION FIGURES
Posted: 07 Sep 2017, 12:55
It occurred to me that, even though I am fairly quick and accurate at mental arithmetic, I could not visualise in my head how "Miles per Gallon" (I know, we buy our fuel in litres these days
)translated into the Johnny Foreigner equivalent of "Litres per 100Km". So I looked it up online and found an easy to use converting calculator which will work the figures in either direction.

I know that some of our vehicles have speedometer and odometer readings in kph and km respectively and some people look for vehicles to buy in foreign parts where fuel consumption is in L/100km and thought the converter may be useful to have. I have jotted down, as an example, a few of the, hopefully useful, conversions relevant to the **Type 25/ T25/ T3 which I have included below.
M.P.G. ============= L/100 KM
15________________________18.8
18________________________15.7
20________________________14.1
22.5 ______________________12.6
25________________________11.3
30_________________________9.4
I didn't know which section to post this topic to be the easiest to find if needed so I have left it here for the wisdom of the moderators to decide its fate. I hope somebody finds it useful!
**Type 25 designation used on VW Heritage website who insist it is correct. -- Please don't shoot the messenger!
