had bit of a funny noise coming from the rear nearside wheels sort of creaking groaning noise so went to the father in laws house and asked him if it sounded like a drive shaft problem,I just reversed up his drive way and coasted back with the engine off and he said 'does not sound like a drive shaft but a loose wheel',I said I checked it a few weeks ago and it nipped up a bit but it should be fine.He went and got a wheel brace and one bolt was finger tight in fact in fell off in his hand! it had snapped the stud off into the nut, three were REALLY loose and the only tight one was the locking wheel nut, talk about feeling a "idiot",checked the other wheels and they were fine, just ordered 4 studs,4 nuts and 4 covers from Brickwerks hope they arrive in time before Busfest so people give your wheels a check will start doing mine weekly

That was a close call. So, who put that wheel on for you? I'd sue em of I were you!

Tyre fitters ! They get away with it by saying on the invoice that you must re torque the wheel nuts. It happened to a mates land rover, both front wheels were about to fall off a week after the tyres were fitted.

forgot about that,I had a puncture repaired on that wheel at National tyres but that was ages ago, have ordered replacement studs from Brickwerks but think I may have ordered the wrong ones as have alloys fitted so sent an email to Brickewerks explains that to them and asking for longer studs and did not realise they were not open on weekends hopefully I can get them before friday as I am off to Busfest and not too sure if it will be safe to drive there with 4 nuts holding the wheel on, will it???

Well four tight nuts will be safer than five loose ones!
