Whats the general run of the mill inverter size used in normal T25 use.

Tele 12 v 5A and the normal other add ons.

Normally happy with the 220v on site use. But also now looking at wild camping requirements.

Current leisure battery size is 110 ah , i,m sure.

Better to build a system that relies on 12v and check the consumption of any 12v items before you buy them. I run a completely 12v system and can function for a weeks off-grid with solar panels to top up.

I do have an inverter but never actually had cause to use it.

Everything I have is running on the 12 volt at the moment, except the tv.

Can i connect that directly to the leisure battery then, without powering it through the

220 volt off the inverter.

Just disconnect the 12v tv charger, and reconnect the lead to the battery ???

Don't see why not If you run it via the inverter you're just introducing an extra hurdle. 5amp is quite a draw though. Might be worth looking for a less power hungry TV. There are certainly some in the 1.2 amp to 2 amp ranges.

Plus, unless its a pure sine-wave converter (not cheap), things like laptops etc do not fare well on them. You can however buy some good (and low cost) buck converters that will increase 12v to 19v or even 12v down to 3v,3.5v,5v etc - I use several to run small strings of LED lights that would otherwise need AA cells etc. Theres a lot you can do on a 12v system. I still have a zig unit that came with my camper, sitting in the shed unused.

Sounds like something I need to look further into.

What options do i have for 12 v water heating only, or

do i have any. I,m assuming its inverter powered heater setup.

If I was considering low wattage appliances such as a kettle,toaster,

sandwhich maker ect,. Am i better to run these from a 12v cig lighter

socket, or an inverter on the battery.

Low wattage rates for these are down as between 750 -900 watts.

Sorry just copped on that the cigar outlet is probably in the region

of 120 watts, so very low wattage accessories in here.

General rule is, if its 12v and it gets hot, it will consume a LOT of amps. Anything like that should be gas powered, and that includes most (with very few exceptions) fridges & coolboxes.

If I need hot water, I just put the kettle on the ring, or in Summer I can get a reasonable shower from those solar shower bag affairs..

Any thread running now that deals with adding solar input into my camper,
for all the usual requirements to become as solar orientated as possible.

At the moment I have the usual needs, fridge, heating, lighting
and occassional tv use.

110ah leisure battery and vehicle battery. Mostly on 220 hook up at
campsites. But would like to not be so reliant on always plugging in.
