Hi folks , it's been a while since I needed to pick some brains here but a sticky starter has me stumped.
Turning on ignition I'm getting a strong solenoid click but not throwing and engaging starter. I'm thinking maybe the little bush the end of the starter shaft sits in ? Battery is new . Also seems to get worse in the wet and when the engine is warm.

If you haven't done it already clean the contacts on the starter till they shine.
Water ingress into the solenoid can make the big current terminals unable to connect due to oxidation.
Even though the bridge is made (audible click)
If it's a Bosch starter they can be redily restored for a small cost (mine cost £30) at a local starter alternator repair shop.
