Lightweight MDF

I'm trying to decide post welding whether the original interior will be going back in or a new one will be constructed.

Toyed with various materials including 27mm solid beech worktop as would give a nice quality feel however the obvious increase in weight is less desirable.

Various chipboards, normal plywood, lightweight ply, faced ply etc.

I know opinion is divided over MDF as historically its weighty and any damp will cause it to blow. However it is easy to work with and a good final finish is relatively easy to achieve.

What I'm really interested in is if anyone has used or heard of any reports on the caberwood MDF as it appears as if there is now a lighter moisture resistant version.

Cheers folk - our leisure drive has a full width bed so its just a small unit to house fridge, hob, grill and sink.
It will only be around 3ft long so I suppose unless I over complicate things it shouldn't be overly heavy.

I got pretty good results with some wood effect laminate flooring that was surplus to requirements.

I used a red wood PARS. Strong, sturdy and cheap. Drilled a few large holes to remove some weight. Designed to fit my cool box and cooker. Varnished/stained oak.
