Going round a small roundabout my steering suddenly locked straight ahead! I wrenched it round and it sounded as though the plastic shrouding on the column caught. Before I prepare my poor old bones for checking out steering underneath and also steering column has anyone had the same symptom?

It didn't help that I was following an idiot going all the way round a roundabout whilst indicating left, at least it was keeping me alert wondering which way he was going.

I think the horn ring has disintegrated.

I hadn't thought that high up, will make sure that I check that as well. The mind goes into panic state as the hands aren't gripping the wheel tight like a learner on their first drive.

My thoughts exactly. Can't imagine the route to get there though. Another of life's mysteries.
