How many plug sockets do you have in your van?
I currently have 2 single plug sockets, but i'm thinking of replacing them with 2 double sockets. I don't intend on using them all at the same time, but sometimes its handy to have 2 in each place...
wht do you have in yours?

1 Twin socket

1 Trailing 4 gang on shortish lead

1 Single socket just under the consumer unit inside the cupboard that the fridge is always plugged into.

I have this one in my van,4 sockets on a lead so you can also use it in the awning if you want .

Cushions look great...shop has run out of that material and I still have 1 curtain to make can't tell me when they can get again!!

Oh, sockets...I have double in back and a single behind drivers seat

Hi mate,i did put some pics up and the website of the lady who did my curtains on the happy new year thread you did a while back.

The lady who did mine is sarah at vw camper curtains.

She is based in Holbeach Lincs if you ask for the same material used for Lees van in Boston she will know what you mean.
How is your van coming along? The last time i had a look on the forum link you put up it was looking great.

one up by the zig unit for the kettle and one down by the slider for plugging in a light of some sort! both singles! it's well worth sinking in your sokets while you are redoing the insides much better than surface!

We have:-

3 leisure battery 12v sockets :-
One (recessed) above/behind the passenger seat, to power a map reading light OR to power either a 12v shower we have or a clip-on light for the awning.
One (surface mounted with cover) where the table goes, for the kid's DVD player.
One spare (recessed) one,above the 'gin cupboard' which invariably gets used to charge the mobile.

1 double 240v recessed switched socket, above the 'gin cupboard' used for the kettle and fan heater or fan
1 single trailing 240v switched socket, for miscellaneous outside use.

those 12v sockets with covers are cool. should help to stop those little fingers poking where they shouldn't! got one of those from the camping shop.

4 sockets

3 x 240V sockets, all flush mounted, with boxes on rear so no exposed connections
2 x 12v 2-pin (caravan type plug) sockets
3 x 12v cig. lighter type sockets, one in rear to plug in stuff that`s put in the back during transit, ie, electric cool box etc, 2 in dash for plugging in GPS etc.

Rubber-cover type 12V cig.sockets I got from Towsure, bit expensive but good quality compared to some they had at the local car access. shop.

Wired the 12V system from a main distribution board in a cupboard, through auxiliary fusebox and terminal blocks for + and -. Feed from leisure batts. with 50 amp cable to terminal blocks, then through fuses to each seperate socket, and extra 12V fluro lights in roof area front and rear to supplement the OE Westy lights. All the interior 12V stuff now runs from the leisure batts. Westys originally run the interior lights and radio from the main batt.
