We couldn't resist it this morning so Marcus took the day off work and we went out to play



Anyone else been out to play today in there syncro

Had to take the kid to school and go to the hospital this morning.

Certainly noticed a difference on icy/sleeted roads, despite only being on road wheels/tyres at the mo (bigger wheels and AT's on order).

Off up to the missus's workplace now which is a farm on top of a hill. Playtime.

SYNCRO's Rule.

Left for the office at 8.30, arrived. Left to go pull Jane's Terios back onto the road. Then went up onto Bradwell moor. Had a hoot getting transits back on the road, two mondeos sliding all over nearly went down a very steep, twist road lined with stone walls - would have been a giant game of pinball!!

Had to come in and do some work but going Snowboarding this evening if its still here - the Syncro will get us to some neat slopes. Will post pics when we get back.

Would that be a 4x4 playing field roller? If so how do they cope int he white stuff?

Took the Syncro out on some quiet lanes nearby and in the local woodland to test it out. Traction was very good on the flat and even on the mounds it coped with rear difflock engaged.

Can't wait to get some AT tyres but for now I am very happy.

Here's an arty photo taken today as I passed through the beautiful woodland scenery.

Even on road tyres its surprising how much traction there is, even without difflocks engaged.. I have been testing mine (me) out in the soft stuff in the field..
But I did get it stuck in the bottom field at the weekend... even with the aggressive off road tyres... made a right mess in a real boggy patch....

My Finnish made Nokian Hakippelitta snow tyres and me are bustin to get out on some snow, never thought I would be praying for blizzard conditions!!!! But not a sign of it down here on the Blackdown Hills of Devon. Arghhhh!!

What size you got then syncrosimon? was looking for them but couldnt find any in the right size...

The syncro came with 4 Nokian tryres in the standard vw size of 205 16. Code name C2. Got a spare mailed from the Southern Tyre Co. Ltd. Hackhurst Industrial Estate, Lower Dicker. Nr Hailsham. East Sussex. tel 01323 844600.
They get a shipment over from Finland every couple of weeks and were very pleasant to deal with. They are expensive at £95.76 including delivery, but everybit as good as a BFG.
The advantage of these tyres is their wet and cold weather on road grip. they also seem to provide good grip in the mud aswell. They do not wear out fast as is often thought of winter tyres, as the rubber compound is designed to retain it;s flexability at low temp, and is not a soft compound as per racing car tyres. I love them!!!

I have also driven Nokian on my 16inch and yes i can confirm they are great! Been driving through 50cm of snow without problems, even on the frozen lake they were great, mine had studs.

Yeah, they sound great, but dont do them in 205r14... I cant fit 16".... bloomin French red tape.....
