Tried to get my rear hub off earlier, ready for new studs going in (for my new wheels), but the split pin has rusted solid. I've sprayed plenty of penetrating fluid in there and going to have another go tomorrow.

Anyone got any tips? Unfortunately the ends have snapped off (very early on - it's evident that it's not been touched for a long long time)!

Can you cut it off flush then knock it through with a thin drift/punch or maybe a thin screwdriver

That's what I was thinking, just not sure how to try and get it flush! Possibly just end up bending it back and forth.... Although with the amount I can bend it its going to take a while!

whack it with a hammer and chisel or chop it off with junior hacksaw.

If there is still a bit of pin showing then a few taps with a hammer might loosen it up enough to pull out.
