Hey,

I've got a Devon conversion which looks to have the original gas pipework in it - there is a sort of corrugated steel hose taking the gas to the fridge. I went to replace it today but nowhere seems to stock 6mm copper pipe (same size as the rest of the pipework). Should I try to use this? Use orange gas hose? Or does a gas engineer do this sort of work or a caracpvan place?

You should be able to get it from your local pluming shop. Test it as if it doesn't leak, no worries. Just make sure you have a carbon monoxide alarm. For peace of mind

Thanks for that. No plumbing places stock 6mm copper - the smallest is 8mm. I can order it online but I have no idea what couplings etc il need.

Is it 6mm or 1/4", just going on the age of the vans??

I think I spoke to gaz safe or something like that? Someone will know but I got flex orange hose for mine. Sorry not more help

Yeh I can't work out why I can't just use the orange gas hose - to me fitting a solid line would be hard as you can't get to the back without pulling it out - then you'd need it to have a bit of flex like the orange pipe.

Hmmm.

I've had no problems with mine. Just a thought. May have been jk that I got that from.
