Temp sender question

I have changed my old plastic thermostat housing for a metal one
In doing so I had to use a single wire sender, and modify the connector.
Would the temperature resistance values be the same as the two wire one or are they slightly different.?

Reason I ask is the gauge is reading slightly higher with the single wire sender.

probably the reduced resistance of the earth, your two wire one needs to go via the ring termanal to earth post adding resistance.
I doubt VW made different guages which would be needed for different sensors.

Yes so less resistance would see the gauge an eighth higher
Thanks pal
