Can anybody reccomend a water pump for my camper please
it has to be an inline pump in the 1/2" plastic pipe and must be quiet.
The pump fitted works but the noise is unbearable.

Do you have an accumulator after the pump?
I have a sureflo inline pump and it is very noisy too dispite being rubber mounted, I'm thinking an accumulator would help as it smooths out the pulses from the pump.
You fit an inline tee piece after the pump and connect the accumulator to the middle arm of the tee.
Some have inlet and outlet ports so you don't need the tee.

Nothing after pump I'm aware of, has non return valve by pump
could be origional for all I know.
must be quiet pumps available I can't hear any other pumps going on a campsite

Alot that come up are submersible and no use with a fitted tank as far as I can see.

It seems to be a common problem, I've seen a few solutions on t'internet but never got around to sorting mine.

A lot of people use submersible pumps these days and they're much quieter as they hang in the water which damps the noise.

Can't see how to fit submersible with a standard tank, you could drill a hole and use a large grommet I suppose.

Will try and unscrew the pump and hang it

OMG I just unscrewed the pump and left it on the carpet under the bed and it's almost silent

I fitted an accumulator last night, it quietened things down a bit, but not much.... still investigating this one.

Mine is quite literally haging by a thread.. well a piece of nylon cord
quiet as a mouse

I tried stringing mine up and it's still noisy, it's quieter when pumping into an open pipe rather than a restrictive tap.
Think we're gonna need a bigger tap or a smaller pump.

For future information
Sureflo pumps use a diaphragm system and are very quiet and self priming.
Available in all psi/flow rates.
Plus they can be frequency speed controlled

Thanks Kevin, how would amybosy know what PSI / flow rate they need?

Most motor homes have 20-30 psi pumps.
I have a 100psi with a 5 lpm flow.
Great for jet washing bikes and my outdoor shower.

I have a shureflo, you can hear it but it's not noisy. The instructions do warn about over tightening the mounting screws and compressing the rubber feet.
