Leatherette Seat Covers

Hi all,
I've read a few treads on here about seat covers and I'm thinking about getting some for mine. I've got a local company in London (Auto Leathers) that'll do both front seats for £160 in leatherette, but I'm just not sure about this leatherette, is it any good, or just like vinyl. It looks a bit like vinyl to me which I definitely don't want as it gets too sweaty. Has anybody got leatherette covers and can advise on what it is like to sit on for long drives? Is it more like leather, or vinyl? Does anyone know if it is breathable/porous? Also, has anyone used Auto Leathers?

Cheers,
Peter

Leatherette is just a fancy name for vinyl.

Hi

I have 'leatherette' covers in my T25. It is nowhere like the Vinyl in my dads old Allegro - ie I don't get sweaty or burn myself on it when its been in the sun.

It seems comfy enough - after a few hours drive to Dorset recently.

Going over to France in the summer so longer trips.....

My missus prefers the camper to the real leather in my BMW, which seems slippy and therefore uncomfortable to her. Can't say I agree.

You should try wearing a thong when you sit on a seat covered in leatherette , you will soon be wanting some velour !
