Q? What is this threaded hole for in the back of the base?

May be completely wrong but does that lip go into the battery box & that therefore is the battery clamp bolt hole?

And Brickwerks sell the alternative battery clamp for the swivel seat.

Interesting
my drivers seat has this but the passenger seat does not strange they should fit different swivel bases
Starter battery missing a clamp so I need one of these (bit of wood is not ideal) and standard clamp fits leisure batt

You could have a early T2 swivel base on the passenger side, battery in engine bay. The part number on T3 swivel base plate has a B letter after the number so there is an earlier version with an A letter .

Oh. I wonder if I've been sent a drivers side by mistake. Makes sense, that side would need the clamp. Better check how it turns. Seats turn inwards to middle of cabin, I think.
--spins either way, seems unusual for passenger seat to have battery clamp though. Wouldn't have had leisure battery there originally.
Anyone got two captain seats in their van. Do they both have M8 threaded holes.
Not that it matters much in the scheme of things...

I'm pretty sure both seats are able to spin eitherway.

The swivel base you have is a genuine vw, as fitted to westfalia campers, it can be used for either side.
