Analogue clock not working

The analogue clock in my instrument panel doesn't work. Hasn't for years... Used to be intermittent, but now never moves.

Speedo, lamps, temp gauge, fuel gauge are all good, but just the analogue clock doesn't seem to work.

Not sure what the problem could be... Maybe a dodgy power connection, or the clock hands too stiff to turn by themselves? Any ideas anyone?

Many thanks in advance for any help

this repair guide is great, I followed it and did mine over the winter. The replacement capacitors are around 30p each from Maplin. Just be careful with removing the blue flex pcb, I used an old credit card cut in half to prise it up.
After putting it all back together it worked a treat, but sadly is now disconnected again as the ticking drives my wife mad :rollin

That was why I never bothered fixing mine. They also draw more than modern digital clocks. In addition, everytime you disconnect battery you have to reset clock. I swapped it for a rev counter but I think if I still had it, I'd have removed the guts and replaced with with a quartz mechanisim and an AA battery :D

That might be my plan B, should the capacitor replacement not work

Took the instrument cluster out today to repair the clock. Much easier than I had imagined... The instructions looked a bit daunting, and I had visions of breaking the flexi board on the back!

New capacitors fitted, tested with 12v supply, and it was ticking away! Now all fitted back in the van and everything working great :)

Many thanks for your help guys :ok
