Sports Shocks - Bilstein B8 or Koni Red with H&R Springs

So I lowered my new to me T25 today with a H&R lowering kit today, the purple ones - 45mm. Looks much better now!! Thanks to the info I found on the forum, it was nice and easy.
When fitting the springs I noticed my shocks are all pretty much shot and need replacing. Anyone got experience of the red koni's or the Bilstein B8 monotubes? Keen to put something on there that's good quality and will improve the handling.
Also noticed by ARB bushes are all knackered. Do you guys recommend powerflex or just replace with stock?
Cheers!

I've replaced mine with PF ones. Improved performance in the wind. Just changed the rack ones too but it's not been windy yet!

Be interested to know what the ride it like on them. The Bilstein B8 a gas sport shock, a firmer ride I believe.

Just my 2p worth!
I used to run H&R Greens (55mm) drop with AVO shocks (adjustable) and it was a quite uncomfortable ride, too low & it was out of the AVO's scope to make any ride difference.
I don't know if the H&R purples are similar, as the greens.
The B8 Bilstein is a great shock, but very firm I believe.
I now run Eibach Springs (40mm drop) with my adjustable AVO's, now the AVO's are within adjustable scope, I really like the fact, I got an adjustable shock, as once a non adjustable shock is on and you think it's too firm or too soft (everyone has their preference), you are stuck with them.
When my AVO's start giving out (they were fitted in 2008), I shall compliment the the Eibach springs with adjustable Spax shocks from Brickwerks!

Brickwerks told me the Koni adjustable lowered shock (even on it’s softest setting) with the H&R greens was a very firm ride, so I wonder if the H&R springs are the issue here. Although springs only set height, it’s more than likely a shock issue.
I always put Eibach springs on my Mk1/2 Golfs, highly recommend.
