No heat after blower fan change

Just changed the blower fan. I removed & drained the heater matrix & was meticulous when putting everything back but I now can't get any warm air. The radiator gets hot & the fan comes on when it should so the system is bled ok apart from the heater.. Ideas anyone? (Early DG 1.9)
Ta.

I knocked the flaps off their hinges inside the heat exchanger cowling when I did mine.
Could be your problem.
Managed to get them back on but scraped the skin off the back of my hands in the process.

Have you been for a good long drive with decent revs? With no way of bleeding the matrix, I think you just have to push it all through which might take some time.. mine took a bit of time before any heat came back too.

I was very careful not to knock the flaps off so am pretty sure they're still attached.

Good point - no I haven't. I just did the usual routine for bleeding the system & as the rad was hot I assumed all was done. I think I should go for a decent run & get the revs going for a bit.
Aside from that, it's great to have a blower working again. I've been putting it off for years, but finally went for it yesterday & today. Took a while but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be & well worth the effort. Anyway, will update when I've been for a decent run. Bigbadbob, ever been to Ardnamurchan? if so, anything interesting to report - we're going for a week in June.

Could it be something as simple as not opening the heater valve when bleeding the system? We all forget the simple things sometimes...
