Hi, does anybody know where's the best place to buy a replacement turbo as the seals are going on mine. If anybody has one for sale I'd also be interested. I've a 1.6 diesel 1990 h ref transporter, many thanks.

Brickwerks do both remanufactured ones using OEM parts, and cheaper aftermarket new ones.

Have a recon turbo, only done less than a hundred miles after recon .

Hi , sorry didn't get back to you yesterday, one of those days! I just want to check the turbo you have for sale is the same as mine, do you know if it's a standard part for all 1.6 diesels? Or is there different versions for whatever reason? Thankyou.

Yes its the original make for 1.6 TD engine ( JX ). Genuine low use ,the garage working on the engine with bad smoke issues when cold said it must be the turbo, so sent that to Turbo Technics, got it back ,fitted with fresh oil, still smoking !. Turned out to be a diesel pump problem ! Only used van a few times after then took engine and gearbox out myself and fitted a subaru engine.

What a nightmare, proved to be a costly fix! Like the idea of a Subaru conversion! I've replaced my 1.6 with a 1.9 1y engine out the golf, just found the 1.6 so underpowered, I'm definitely interested in the turbo, without sounding cheeky is 200 your absolute minimum? How would I send you payment? Many thanks Paul
