Gearbox rattle at idle

I have this rattle coming from the gearbox.
When you press the clutch it disappears.
Comes back when you release the pedal.
Only happens in neutral.
It's louder when the engine and gearbox are warmed up.
The clutch, release bearing and spigot bearing are brand new.
It's a 1.9d AEF engine on a 5 speed gearbox.

Anything I can do to reduce the rattle without a gearbox rebuild?

Video to follow...

Maybe a problem with the release bearing.

Possibly a loosely fitting new release bearing or something?

Heres a video of the rattle - you can hear the noise change as I push and release the clutch pedal

Common with 1.9 Diesel engines. I had it too. The reverse/1st synchronizer is a bit worn and it bounces between 1st and the reverse gears.
It is harmless but annoying.

Can't really tell from your video BB, but is it a sort of kerchickety chickety chickety noise as opposed to a gearbox rumble? If so it might be loose drive springs on the clutch driven plate. I've heard this on several different vehicles. If so it's nothing to be alarmed about, but yes it is annoying. To diagnose, in neutral at idle with foot on the clutch, then release veeeeeeeeeeery slowly. It probably won't make the noise. It's certainly worth finding out before opening up the gearbox.

Yes it's more of a chickety chickety noise alright. Think I'll leave it for now.
