Hi,
My van runs well on lpg. PO never ran on petrol, for about 7 years he said!
Anyway, fitting a new tank and fuel lines to get it working on petrol.
It has an electric pump fitted, this is mounted in the engine bay, at a higher level than the tank outlet for sure.
My question is should the pump be gravity fed?

I recently fitted a facet leccy pump to my ,80 t25 , the instructions state that. it is to be mounted at an incline with outlet to carbs higher than the inlet and in close proximity to the fuel tank . and slightly higher than the tank if possible .
I have fitted a security siolating switch too , and it all seems to work fine .

Did you fit an inline filter before or after the pump?
Not sure why mine is fitted in the engine bay, guess it must be a pull as well as push type pump..?!??

Aye, thats your problem - too far from tank. Mine is at most four inches from tank outlet. Remember, facet pumps push rather than pull, hence the need to mount as close to tank as possible. Filter should be before pump.

Does it need a pressure regulator?
Some seem to say yes and others no..
There are also many to choose from, Facet look the most widely used.. there are lots of copies on eBay etc, what did you guys use??

Facet Posiflow 1.4 - 4.0 psi, no need of a regulator as it is the same pressure as the original mechanical pump. And they should be mounted close to the fuel tank and as close in height as possible to the bottom of the tank no more than 12" higher.

For the benefit of others, I fitted one of these Facet pump copies off e-bay to my Chevette & it was a complete waste of money, very noisy & poor performance.

Well there's a lesson there for everyone. Anyway, you can fit rubber bushes to deaden the noise.

But it was a cheapo copy. Did you try a genuine Facet?

Fitted one to mine in engine bay below carb but above tank. Took live feed off Weber carb had nothing but problems. Intermittent feed. Changed feed and now works a treat. It is noisy but I'm going to live with it and see.
