Painting small areas

Just rubbed down some small area of surface rust mostly less than 2cm across. Would you commend spraying, mini roller or brush on small areas like this. I don't really want to do the whole panel unless I have to.

I use a brush now, looks better than spraying, need a steady hand.
I use a dremmel and cutting disc for rubbing down and removing rust, can even feather the paint edge with it.
never seen a roller that small

Decided to sort of the mess that the garage left when they fitted the rear jacking point so might roller after all. Delighted that what looked like bad rust next to the rear seam and hookup was just surface rust, feeling inside it the panel is as new. Weird how rust gets under the paint
You must have a steady hand to sand out the rust with a cutting disc

Does anyone know if I should flat off and lacquer the Rustoleum applied with a brush or does the Rustoleum have a gloss finish already?

Nothing like as hard as it sounds, not found any other method that removes ALL rust, the little wire wheels or wet and dry just make a large mess and don't get deep enough to remove all rust to shiny bare metal, a tiny dot of rust left in a pit is enough to come back.
Trick is to use two hands on the dremel, I use diamond discs now not expensive but last forever, resin discs are rubbish.

Too late I'm afraid. Used wire brushes and hand sanding, then vactan then plastic padding chemical metal filler. Just need to paint now. You're right about those crappy resin one, had a few fly off.

No worries, if/when it comes back you can do it again.
I have to do rust spots every year, I have learn't the more you remove rust the less it comes back.
