Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question but I've just bought my first T25 (t3?) an Aircooled 2.0 holdsworth villa 1. All seems to be fine but after a short run today I parked on the slope of my drive, nose down. After a while I noticed oil dripping onto the drive from what I assume is the oil breather pipe. When I pulled it onto the flat the drip stopped almost at once. Oil level is halfway between the 2 marks. Any ideas what may be the problem, if there is one at all? Thanks in advance.

was it the fuel pump breather pipe? o/s near wheel?

Thanks Steve, looking at it from under the van, it's a short pipe that goes into a housing on the crank case which I guess is the oil pump. I'm wondering if it was just because the engine was pressurised and I was parked on quite a steep slope.

I think you will find tha is the petrol pump ..... and it's normal I think

If the oil is coming from this pipe.



Which would have been mounted here then it is the fuel pump breather pipe. It should not leak any oil it only leaks when the pump has failed internally. Replacements are of variable quality think about converting to an electric fuel pump.

Thanks Steve/bigherb, it could well be the fuel pump, it's all new to me so still finding where things are located. I'll crawl under and have another look tomorrow and if it's different to your pics I'll post a photo. It is already running an electric fuel pump feeding twin webbers

Then you need to remove it and fit a blanking plate.

Normal (leaks), when knackered.....

Thanks for your help guys. Having had a better look it is the old mechanical fuel pump. As it now runs on an electric pump I'll look into getting a block off plate from JK and remove the old one.
