Wax in wheel arch

I notice a bung today. I thought it was for draining but Brickwerks say it was for filling the 15mm hole where wax was originally put in. I'm wondering if can be rewaxed. If so where could I get the right wax. It crossed my mind to put our favourite rust proofer in instead. Any ideas?

Waxoyl is good for going on top of the original cavity protection.

Once you start with cavity wax there'll be no stopping you. The voids in all your doors are easy to door (remember to unblock the weep holes), b-posts, chassis rails, where do you stop? Money well spent though.

Should have been able to work that one out for myself

I'll need to glue the bung back in with something as there's a little rust and the bung gave way when I was trying to clear out the non existent hole in the middle of the bung to let any water out!

Could also be a waste of money if there is rust in there already !

Would it not at least slow down the rust by encapsulating it (starving it of air)?

Maybe, but you would have to make sure that it is bone dry in there or you could seal in moisture.
