Rev counter.... I think we are going to need a bigger boat

Well in my wisdom I decided to get a rev counter for the van...

Always like a rev counter and at £20 I thought why not. Didnt buy a geniune one (silly money) or a vdo one (still pricey)... hindsight maybe I should have.

Bought it off ebay. Bloody hell never knew 5 inches was that big.

Now where the hell do I put it. It's MASSIVE.

Any ideas or send it back.

Its quite difficult to give it context and scale,

wait a mo, heres another shot

You could halve the size by cutting the right hand half off. You won't be needing the right side.

That's a racers tacho. Positioned smack in front of you in the windscreen, along with the revs warning and oil pressure lights! At least that's what I used to have.

Its going quite well at the mo, but not that good.

Never actually knew what rpm a 1.9 would be doing at 70 in 4th??

Will send it back.

How about this one.

3.75 too big??

Agree with above, i bought one of those, works a treat and i even got a £7.50 refund for some scratches on the black body of it
The next small project is mounting the CHT display underneath it.

I quite like the bigger ones - I have an 80mm in mine, centred with the wiring going through the speaker holes:

There's these on eBay and think the look would go well in the van:

Managed to fit counter all good.

Quick question, could I put a 470 regulator on light, its a pretty bright blue in the cab, or would that just not work
