30 year old propex 1600w Wiring?

I can only get my propex working by bypasing the thermostatic controller.
I only have four wires at the thermostatic controller power from batt (pos/neg) and power to heater (pos/neg). The thermostatic controller has four terminals, there is a wiring diagram inside the cover (Forgot to take pic) for a 109-12/24 model system but the circuit board is a 110-12/24 model.
The written instructions in the manual seem to contradict the wiring diagram.
I have tried doing it both ways but can't get it to work.
This model does not have the purge facility according to manual.
All the wiring disgrace I gave found seem to be first newer models.Image

I emailed propex early this morning and got a reply back from Propex first thing and now have it working. Top service :-)
