Hi,
Need to remove the interior from my conversion to make sure no nasties are being hidden and also to fix some bodywork, I don't plan on putting it back, it's an old Reimo I think interior which has seen better days, functional but not pretty..!
Everyone has a budget, mine is looking like..a) pre cut either mdf or birch ply self fit, or b) self made..
Much prefer a).. has anyone fitted some of these pre cut self fit units that are on eBay?? And if so if they were mdf what did you finish them with??

If mdf just spray them with water and you won't have the bother of having to fit them. Nasty useless stuff!

Definitely what OBG said; Don't use MDF! It'll soak up moisture like a sponge (and weigh an absolutely ton, even dry).

That's what I thought... better to ask..
Birch ply seems a better option, varnish etc..??

Has anyone covered in either iron on veneer or adhesive veneer??

Get your old one refurbed? Or sell your old stuff to help fund new? I'm after an interior too. What is your old one like? Where are you?

Yes, would like to refurbish what I have ideally, has to be the cheapest option..don't think I will get that much for them if I sell, they are from what I am led to believe Reimo, so decent quality, but do need a fettle..
Think I will buy some self adhesive vinyl, and try it..
Can renew the hinges and catches if needed I guess.
Did consider mdf, but don't like the painted finish, and if I need to veneer them, then may as well try to veneer/wrap the ones I have..!
The laminate ones look the best bet if have to buy new, will see how I get on with the vinyl...

Try picking up a formica sheet easy enough to cut with a Stanley knife, stick to the surface with decent spray adhesive

I have a large roll of high quality adeshive wrap in carbon fibre effect if your interested? Bought it for £100 but will sell for £60 I think it's 20sm. It's the stuff you heat up to apply and moulds round corners ect

if the cupboards are still in sound condition then a lick of paint can make all the difference.

I'm goind DIY. Beach-hut style. Cheap in terms of materials and no limit to how you could finish them. A lot more pics to follow over next few weeks

MDF should never be used in a camper. Nor should chipboard in my view. Better to make batten frames and clad according to taste. A great deal lighter too.

Think will try to recover, if that doesn't work will buy veneered laminate ply and use the current units as templates..
