Morning all,

I've got a 1990 twin slider with a 1z engine conversion and original gear box with dog leg first gear.

All gears work fine however when it's in third there is a rattle coming from What i assume is the gearbox - any ideas what this could be?

Doesn't affect performance or anything else just get the noise.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

IF it is the gearbox then my best guess is worn pinion bearing allowing pinion shaft to displace under load and the 3rd gear rubbing on the edge of 4th gear, drop the oil and see what the drainplug magnet has to tell you about wear levels - if I am right it will be very thickly coated with fines, sludgy paste like deposit
