lowering my van for garage

Hi
Need to get my van in my garage for some restoration work.

Its about 15cm to height though:(

I know I could probably get a few cm's letting the tyres down but I thought about chopping the springs abit.

Anyone forsee any issues? How much would I potentially gain drop wise?

Cheers
Dave

You could ratchet strap springs down if it's only temporary, or long term swap them out. No one would recommend cutting springs on this forum.

great idea about the ratchet straps:)
Was going to go down the lower 50-60mm spring route but don't think that will be enough
I would not be using the spings on the road again anyway, they will be replaced, was just for the purpose of getting it in the garage

Perhaps you could try using standard 14 steel wheels without the tyres.

4 car dollys and two 6ft scaff planks would do get it a lot closer to the floor with the wheel the removed and sat on the planks ,, I use this method to move shells (Subaru not vans) about all the time , only issue is the surface has to be fairly smooth for the car dollys to work properly

Would trailer wheels work, something like these.

possibly with lower profile tyre s.

remove tyres, remove springs completely and roll it in on the bump stops and bare rims
