Handbrake light wont switch off?

Can anyone help??? My handbrake light will not switch off in either position, checked the courtesy switch plenty of free movement, nothing jammed but still no light off. Any ideas?

It is also a warning for low brake fluid level.
Check the fluid level and also the connector on the reservoir cap.
