hi there. we have just picked up our camper and the speedo jumps right round of the scale whenever u r in motion, even at very slow speeds it reads off the dial. any siggestions of where the fault is?

Sounds like an internal fault somwhere. I don`t think a dodgy cable would cause this. Speedo out job isn`t hard to do, depends how brave you are to pull it to bits and have a look-see. It does sound like the internal frictio-drive part is sticking and "over-driving" the needle. Do the mileage wheels trip round fast as well or just the needle?

Second-hand speedo isn`t expensive or hard to find, nothing to loose really

and a low mileage one is a must!

This will sound mad but i had a problem like that caused by the cable freezing up in the winter

hmm well hubby has just taken it to get fuel. its -3 this morning and worked fine now we are more confused lol. will keep an eye on it

been using it again today, and still not working. had to go very slow past the speed cameras lol

where are you based Wendy/hubby ?

didnt get round today sadly, too busy. must try and go see them

pull the cover off the top of the instrument panel , and just check that the speedo is plugged in all the way , also check that the pin is in at the road wheel end
