Hello All.

A complete novice so bare with me....

after camping in my 25t last year i noticed my leisure battery discharged after about a full day with using interior lights etc.
but im quite sure it recharges after ive taken the van for a good run. so i think i must have some kind of relay instaled somewhere?

my questions is: Am i right in saying i just need to install a CTEK battery / charger / condition using the ring type connectors and
it will keep it charged?

Or do i need to do more work first... I know there must be plenty of similar questions on here but electrical is not by best subject.

I have the control unit which operates the water pump.
fridge does work off the leisure i think + the gas and hook up.
there is also a 12v cig lighter in the back.

not sure if some of the interior lights work of the leisure?
think one works on mains 240 and the other two work on battery?

the two lights go dim when the battery loses charge...

I have a propex heater but never used it and would think it works of electric?

The fridge should only run off the battery with the engine is running.To test if the battery is in good working condition,remove it,charge it for 24 hrs test the voltage.Leave it standing for 24 hrs.If there's a noticeable voltage drop then consider replacing it.

I think its quite new as the guy said he replaced it before i bought the van but will check. is it worth me pursuing one of these chargers / conditioners to help me?
what do you think as im sure no matter how good the battery is it will go flat after time with nothing to charge it?

I have an MCB located in the cupboard so if i hook up the mains lead from the CTEC and attach the ring terminal to the battery i should be sorted. when i switch to
240 hook up it will provide power to the CTEC and condition the battery. when i drive the van it will charge the battery also...

I think thats it but will check with the previous owner about when is installed.

A CTEC to charge your battery when on hookup is a good idea.I use one in my van.I just plug it into one of my 240v sockets.
