Trying to fit these thought it would be easy, they are about an inch too long ( same length as origionals) and I just can't compress them by hand, how do I fit them?
Thanks
Paul

With the windlass you don't need to worry about finding anything. (I always carry a length of braided nylon cord in my back pocket, pick up a stick and you can pull together numerous things.)

Dont understand this. I replaced mine last year with brickwerks ones. Old ones off and new ones popped straight on in minutes. No nead to compress. If you have to compress to fit, surely this means the struts wont be locked out when tailgate fully open. Is something stopping tailgate fully opening?

Agree with Sambus, sounds like your tailgate is not fully opening.

Hi the struts don't lock out, well ours don't anyway. Also when i fitted new ones these had to be compressed a bit, did this by fitting one end then jamming the other end on the opening and pulling down on the door to compress it then quickly get it on before it opens out again, did this both sides worked ok.

Yep I can confirm it't just me being stupid, only 5'8" and underestimating the weight, good push and it goes way past what is needed.
