Help needed with a new carb!

Hi everyone, so the garaged called me earlier. The engine is now all good following the rebuild, however, it's not running properly due to a faulty carb. Anyone got any ideas for a replacement? Should I go Weber? Or try and source an original?
Update! Sorry: 1.9 DG, 1987

Assuming its a DG ( worth adding to your sig with year)
VW Heratige do pierburg 2e3 copies for the T25 or you can gave yours reconditioned by Bromyard VW
Both similar price but new is quicker
general opinion is don't bother with webber, no real benefit.

Yes as itchy feet says stay with the carb VW fitted
Bromyard VW do a complete and utter renewal.
It's tested on an engine before being sent out.
It will be working perfectly.

You can't even get the Weber conversion carb anymore, it was discontinued years ago.

Hi, thanks for this. Do you have any experience of the copies from VW Heritage?

I've recently sent mine off to be refurbished and that was on the recommendations of a lot of folk on here. Unless you are very skilled and have an excellent workshop I wouldn't even think about renovating a carburettor.

I know of one van that has one of these new "copy" carbs fitted and it's like driving a new van I'm told.
Does what it says on the box.
Webbers never did work well on the wbx, despite what some may tell you!
And they are mor expensive that the correct carb .

Ideally, I would like to go down the route of a refurb as I like keeping these things original but I've been without the van now nearly six months and I don't really want to delay it any longer than necessary. I've had a look at the VW Heritage ones and have decided to give it a go! I'll report back here with the outcome

Well, I'm all for saving money where possible and if there's no real added benefit of having a Weber then I may as well stay original. I've put an order in for a copy from VW Heritage (I'm surprised JK don't seem to do one...) and I'll see how it goes. Driving like a new van sounds good!!

I still don't see your van details like year and engine type in your signature? easier to add it then you don't need to remember to write it.
