Westy pop top

Hi there,
Has anybody here retro fitted a westy pop top without using a roof cut ?
I've got the option of doing either, cutting the roof and fitting just the pop top I could probably do myself, unfortunately welding in the westy roof cut is beyond my capability.
Thanks,
Stefan

Yes, lots of people have done this. It's easier to do it this way (cut a hole and bolt the roof on), than it is to cut off the whole thing at the gutters, and weld a new one in it's place. That said, neither of them are 'easy jobs'.
Here's a thread showing how mine was done...

There are a few other similar threads on here - look under Bodywork - people are regularly carrying out this swap.

Thanks for this info, really useful, seems quite straightforward.

Measure, measure, then measure again. Make sure you have all the parts before you start, especiqlly the aluminium trim that holds down the canvas. CVC sell them if you need them.

Made and fitted by Ady Joad at Boxwagen in Bournemouth. Boxwagen are online, and Ady also posts on here sometimes. It's a very useful piece or metal, as it not only takes the weight of the H bar and roof, but it also eliminates the rough edges left after the hole is cut, and gives you somewhere to tuck in the roof lining. He may sell you one if you ask, but it's his shout, obviously. Why not PM him?

Hi Keith,
I'm now on his waiting list, he's a busy man.
