Hi Guys,
I need to replace the accelerator cable for my Gti conversion as the part under the pedal was damaged when welding. I am not sure if I buy the DG which the van would have been originally or if it doesnt matter as I might need to splice it anyway?
This is how mine looks now in engine bay:
Cheers

bike shop! if you can get it off the reel get a length of inner and outer cable the get some nipples and get busy with a soldering iron.bit of time but cheap and effective.

Unfortunately the plastic cover that protects the cable upto the pedal is melted, or is that the bit you can get from a bike shop?

Any ideas which of the various replacement model accelerator cables I should go for?
I know I will need to modify the end but not sure which standard one to start with? Diesel? DG?

is it the same cable as the AGG? If so, the RJES one is recommended.
he has a selection of ends..if you say the same as Emma Vernel its the one the majority of members have used successfully

My engine is actually an older Mk1/2 1.8 Gti DX not the AGG. I am not sure if they all get butchered the same and spliced or if the body part fits differently.
I may need to get mine out first to have a good look
