A warning to anyone ordering parts, i have just unwrapped some headrests, they were wrapped in cardboard and shrinkwrapped from new. There was no visible damage on the outside and was not going to unwrap them untill i needed them, then due to previous problems with classic parts i unwrapped one. What a shock, it is covered in indentations from the corrigated cardboard, dozens of horizontal dents across the front and back , like a ribbed effect but it doesnt give me pleasure !

Think those indentations, should hopefully come out given time, as the foam recovers. Hope so anyway, for you.

whs^^
try warming them up gently near a radiator, in your van they may get as hot as 60 + degrees C in the sun in summer so don't be too shy.

The problem is some materials do not regain their original shape, i had storage marks on a padded dash top, i told classic parts but they never got back to me. The storage marks caused by stacking one on top of another were very shallow so i did like you say and put the dash top away - its for a long term project. A year later had a look at it and its still the same ! Contacted classic parts and they said the black and grey padded tops had sold out. I have seen a german ebay shop has 10 of each so vw must have sold the remaining stock to them, the price is higher, their reputation doesnt seem that good and they will not post to this address anyway. I am going to take photos to show vw what happens to these materials, they need to unwrap everything before the parts are sent out, these goods are seconds but they charge full price which is not good !
