Alternative door cards

I wanted to re fit some interior door cards and the rest of the inside and I am looking for some alternative to the plywood
Someone said to me before about a plastic type of sheet you can use that is much easier to work with but I forgot the name of it I think the trimmers use it these days .
Does anyone know of a good type of replacement for the stock ply?
TIA
Johnny

Oil tempered fibreboard is resitant to moisture and warping

Plastic sheet could be plexiglas (which is a type of acrylic).
Plexiglass (3mm) is tough stuff and can bend double whereas acrylic isn't (it will snap easily).

Easy to work with.

oil pressure treated board will give better sound damping though I'd have thought but maybe heavier

Brickwerks on the cusp of selling ABS ones. Getting them made IIRC

Ignore the bit about plexiglass, i was using 5mm stuff today and it shape like glass!! whereas the 2mm stuff i was using the other day bent double

Might want to try HDPE sheet, plastic shop is good to look at, personally I used hardboard coated in pvu , the textured side gives good adhesion and isn't brittle like plywood.

I used hardboard and painted it with fiberglass resin.

I work in the print trade and there's a material we use called foamex. It's lightweight but 'fairly' robust, it's moisture resistant and you can cut it with a scalpel. If you're intending on covering it with something else after (material for example) it might be just the thing. It comes in different thicknesses too.

This sounds interesting, I wonder if they will be good enough finish to fit straight on or if they need covering?

I suppose if they have holes for clips you will have to cover?
