Number plate lights

One of the things to sort for MOT was the number plate lights and on investigation the units were corroded beyond repair and had obviously been bodged previously. Coupled with a cracked lense and both lenses being very cloudy i decided to replace with new.Easier said than done as either out of stock, not available or just 'silly money' for what they are. Searched about and bought two of these which fit in the original black mounts and just need slightly longer screws. Worth a look if youre not too fussed about keeping original

A few years ago I soldered LED bulbs into original housings but have since got rid of them completely and just glued an LED strip where the original lights used to be. Cheap, easy to replace and completely out of sight.

Gives a much brighter cleaner light too, might look into replacing the bulbs in the rear clusters with LED

Yes I was thinking about secreting LED strips inside of the front grill so as to kid oncoming traffic I am one of those foreign jobs with the curvy side lights.
Probably miss out on a few VW waves though. Shame a VW motive won't fit in there.
