Question :
Has anyone seen or had a bus with a high top where the bus roof had been removed (including the support struts)?

Thinking about it, the post buses must be set up in that sort of way?

Paul the factory hitop and westy hitops have no cross members at gutter height there's a pair of up and over pressed steel reinforcements in the factory one and a frame in the westy one - see Mike Ghia's roof thread on Samba for details
I'm wondering how much of my roof to remove for the hi top, I want the bed height space of internal framed bed space rather than mosaic/uk convertor type of upper bed ontop of tin top roof
maybe I'll put in a cross memeber temporary or otherwise before cutting anymore out, at the moment there is just a 1.2m square cut out
Si TMT has a westy pop top roof cut with the gutters I want to look at to see how they did it internally

When I cut my roof for the turret top I fitted I thought the same. I made a 2 cross members out of 12mm ply that sit between the roof and the headlining. I bonded them to the roof.

Thanks Aidan, that makes me a lot happier.
I have the high top and the prepared body, I'll take some photos when I can.
