Hi i have a 1.9DG engine, on an 82 WBX. I am not happy with the auto choke on the carb as it doesn't seem to want to engage. Also its getting on a bit, its a pierburg2e. Thinking of a new carb. priced £250 online from a vw site. I can see alot of 2e2 's listed on ebay for £100.....Can i fit one to my engine? The mounts seem the same but i am wondering if it connects up works the same??

You want a 2e3 and a T25 2e3, nothing else.
A T25 2e3 has a part code starting 025

Looks similar but with an electric choke?
Would this be ok. Do the wires I already have just been hooking up???
Otherwise I can find a new one for love nor money..

no thats a 2e2 from a Golf

You need a 2e3 for a T25, they may look sililar but they are all jetted different and even have different size venturis.

There is no quick cheap fix I'm afraid, secondhand will probably be just as bad as yours

You can get yours reconditioned by Bromyard VW but takes a few weeks.

We do brand new Pierburg 2e3 carbs for £216.58 plus vat, we have supplied and fitted many of them and much cheaper than a refurb.
