Smoke on over run.

A few months ago I posted that I was getting a small plume of smoke on the over run and was informed this is indicative of worn valve guides. Anyway, since then it appears to have magically stopped! Nothing has been touched mechanically, I'm curious to know what is occurring. I don't know if it's relevant or coincidence but at the time of the smoke show, the van was requiring quite some turning over to get it to fire up first thing in the morning whereas now, it's reverted to its old ways of firing up super quick.

Thanks in advance. Mitch.

IMO It's got cold, oil is thicker, unless you do long runs oil temp will be low and thick oil won't get past guides so easily.

That or the oil level is low

Been driving fo 35-45 minutes including some miles on the motorway, shouldn't that be sufficient to get the oil warm?

Gotcha. Does that also mean that my poor compression will have disappeared only to return again once the warmer weather arrives? If so, fabulous, as that buys me some more time before going ahead with the transplant :rofl

Ps. Only kidding.
