Early Sliding Door Runner

Afternoon All,
1984 1,9DG W/C Early Slider Door
I am in the process of cleaning up the Sliding Door runner, replacing nylon guide and bearing as well.
Also as Sliding Door will be off will be cleaning and repainting lower track area, bearings seem ok, but we'll see.
Using Vactan, then Rustbeater's Custom Epoxy 421 Body Primer, followed by Rustoleum using brush.
My question is when I refurbish the runner( inverted u shape ) do I just paint the sides and underneath runner and leave track exposed and polished, or which seems unlikely paint the whole runner ? I would have thought the nylon runner guide would/will remove paint .
When I'm refurbishing and painting lower track area, do I paint whole area, or mask off exposed track created by lower bearing and paint the rest?
I'm lucky in some respects as my van is in a large hangar, so it's dry but bl...y freezing with fair amount of moisture, most dripping off me nose!
The Rustbuster's Primer seems ideal for the conditions and I can leave it without any worries, the Rustoleum I think might not be a good idea at the moment as it's so bl...y cold, however I've borrowed one of those square building site lamps which if I have it trained on area to be painted may help to cure the paint, as they give off a fair amount of heat and I'll get a suntan as well!
Does this sound ok?
Atb,
Chris
