Starter motor is goosed on my van and I was reading that there are high tork starter moters available for these ...anyone have any info on these of know who supplies them?..1985 1.9 D ...thanks

There has been discussion for not for a long time as far as I can remember. Supposed to be a good product, what's wrong with a refurbished unit that's already fitted?

I don't much like it when people pick holes in spelling but it does make the search work if you spell it right

I did read the above thread after a google search ..Starter is sticking again even after a refurb..I thought a WOSP would be a good investment over a new standard one..There are various other websights offering these motors but thought I would ask for advice..

Your starting is only as good as the weakest link in the circuit, so it may not be any better than standard if the rest isn't tip top.

You have a 1.9 D? What car was the engine from originally?

I can add that I have a High Torque starter. It is great, but to be honest, when you get used to the different sound and the novelty wears off, you forget about it. I haven't even thought about it for months until I read this thread. If a standard one is good enough, you may be better off saving some money and just keeping that set up.

The reason I asked about the type of conversion / engine you have is because I know the petrol engined T25's ( like mine ) have a starter bush that produces symptoms of a sticking motor when they are worn. Find out exactly what conversion and setup you have in that respect, then see if it is something else causing your issues before forking out a few quid...

Like Itchy says - weakest link and all that...
Let someone with a similar 1.9D conversion advise if you have a similar bush to the petrol vans - unless you already know - then work from there.
