Hi guys after just doing a conversion from a 1.6td JX to a 1.9 1y engine with the JX turbo I now find oil in the turbo so on startup I get blue smoke from the exhaust for a minute or so can anyone tell me if this is right or do I need to look at the seals on the turbo because I am a bit worried as it is getting near that time for the MOT and I am thinking it may fail the emissions .

Don't worry about it, my jx passed a test on Wed and it blows a bit of blue smoke on acceleration and after idling for a few minutes.

OK cheers but if the oil seals on the turbo do need replacing I would rather do it now if I can still get the parts.

Hi Mr hutch there is nothing easy on these vans :oops: but now I have done it and I no how to take it apart I think the next time round will be a breeze the only thing I would say is before you start take a picture of the turbo just so you no at what angle the oil pipes are at and make sure you have a lot of penetrating oil when taking the turbo apart I did snap one of the six bolts holding it together but a quick drill out re - thread sorted that out.and you will need a hairdryer to remove the bigger propeller after taking the 10mm nut off if you decide to go head give me a shout if you get stuck.look at my other post here https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=156380" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
