heavy steering

running 195 /65/15 merc c class wheels salva tyres 42psi
steering is heavy any ideas could the rack need lubing remember years ago putting gear oil in the gaiters does this still apply
got a prob with my back so want to try and lighten the steering when reverse parking etc

van is a 1983 autohomes 1.9 dg camper with pop top roof
or is my van just to heavy

My brother noticed a big difference in the steering of his van when he changed from reinforced to comercial tyres, i dont know if the tyre pattern makes any difference

stick skinny tyres on the front and fat on the back

not only does it look good, but gives you the best combination of steering and handling.

My V8 runs 175/80 on the front and 265/80 on the rear
