Gear oil in CV joint

Hi I'm looking for advice, I'm replacing the CV joints on my van 1990 DG, because the outers were noisy.
When I removed one of the shafts a quantity of gear oil came out of the gearbox output flange where the joint fits in along with the driveshaft bung and the inner joint was full of gear oil.
Do I need to replace the output flange oil seal or just the bung?
