AAZ fitting issues

Right

I have both engines next to each other in the garage on engine stands so I can swap bits over.

Now as I understood it there were two different turbos used on the engine Garett and KKK, both are compatable with the exhaust manifold from the JX and both matxh up to the original exhast system.

MY JX turbo has 4 mounting bolts, my AAZ turbo only has 3!!

So have I managed to get the only derivative which is incompatatbe?

The only why that I can get the van back on the road for monday is to use the JX turbo if it is any good - I am aware that I will need to play with the wastegate to get the correct boost pressure (original AAZ) but will this be pushing the original turbo to far? for durability?

Or am I better off trying to find the correct AAZ turbo? and if so who has one that is in good usable condition?

Cheers

John

Fit the 1.6 turbo, you will not have any problems.

mine (I was told it is AAZ, can't see the engine number on the block) has KKK turbo with three bolts, so you've maybe not got the only one...

No it won't be pushing the turbo, it'll be pushing the engine more, but why not leave it at 7.5 psi to start with, roughly what they're set at, get used to it, then put the boost up a bit. If everything is in good shape, you can go to 12 then 15 - but the problem is alwasy matching the fuel, so for now, leave it as set I'd say.
