Hi don't know if this is nothing but when I'm reversing I get a grinding sound then nothin , when I first heard it thought ide bottomed it and caught the exhaust got out nothing that was after a 90 mile drive , it sits on my drive most of the time only use it once or twice a month , could it be the brakes ?

As you don't drive it much, I am thinking the grinding noise may be rusted drums and/or front disks. I would drive it around and use the brakes a lot and see if the grinding goes away.

... well where is the noise coming from? Get someone to stand next to the truck and reverse up is a good idea.

I had exactly the same thing on my Bedfrod CF and pondered on it for what in the event was far to long in retrospect.
To my horror I discovered by accident (not of the vehicular kind) that it was a dis-bonded rear brake shoe pad which somehow sat against its mate then moved round when going backwards to make a noise. Yours may not be exactly the same but this ratchet type action is very possible due to the floating nature of the brake components. Busted or loose shoe springs could also be a possibility
Could be a cheap (I mean economical) fix and I don't mean getting out the Areldite!

Cheers lads think it's best I investigate a bit further could be just rusted on coz sits on my drive for a couple of weeks at a time best be safe then sorry thanks for your replies and getting back
